Why we make

We believe a home is built slowly. Each piece we carry is chosen for the grain of its wood, the weight of its cloth, the way it ages rather than wears. Natural materials, honest joinery, proportions that feel calm in a room — and nothing you'll want to replace in five years. Less, but kept for longer.

The studio

Marta & Erik, and the shop they couldn't find.

We met as product designers in an Amsterdam agency, spending our days drawing things destined to be made cheaply and thrown away quickly. So in 2019 we left to open the shop we'd always wanted to walk into — one where everything is chosen by hand and built to outlive its trends.

We source directly from small makers across Scandinavia and the Netherlands: a fourth-generation oak workshop in Jutland, a linen mill in Flanders, a ceramicist two canals over. If we wouldn't live with it ourselves, it doesn't make the floor.

Showroom

Eerste van der Helststraat 42, De Pijp, Amsterdam — open Wed–Sun, 11–18h

From our customers

The oak table arrived in three pieces of solid wood and a set of instructions written by hand. Five years on it still looks better than the day it came.
Lieke — Utrecht
Marta spent an hour in the showroom helping me choose textiles for a room she'd never seen. Nothing about it felt like selling.
Daniel — Berlin
I wanted one good lamp and left with a sense of how to live with less. That's a strange thing for a shop to give you.
